With plenty experiences during production & customers' feedback, we now have below the general analysis report on choosing Cutting Blade hardness.

The mostly used hardness is from 45HRC to 90 HRC for different cutting applications:

1. 45HRC to 55HRC: These blades are relatively softer and are commonly used for cutting softer materials such as wood, plastics, and non-ferrous metals (e.g., aluminum). The lower hardness allows for better resistance to chipping and prevents excessive wear.

2. 55HRC to 65HRC: Blades in this hardness range are versatile and can handle a wide range of materials, including medium-hard steels, brass, and cast iron. They offer a good balance between hardness and toughness, providing decent cutting performance and durability.

3. 65HRC to 75HRC: Blades with higher hardness in this range are suitable for cutting harder materials like hardened steels, stainless steel, and some alloys. The increased hardness enhances their ability to maintain a sharp cutting edge and resist deformation.

4. 75HRC to 90HRC: These blades are extremely hard and are typically used for specialized applications that involve cutting very hard materials such as tool steels, carbide, and ceramics. However, they are brittle and may be prone to chipping or fracturing if subjected to excessive lateral forces or impacts.

Blade hardness can indeed influence the cutting effectiveness of a circular rotary blade. The appropriate blade hardness depends on the material being cut and the specific cutting application. In general, harder blades are more suitable for cutting harder materials, while softer blades are often more effective for softer materials.

While the above ranges provide a general overview, it's worth noting that the optimal blade hardness may vary depending on factors such as cutting speed, feed rate, and the specific composition of the material being cut. It's advisable to consult blade manufacturers' recommendations and consider the expertise of professionals familiar with the specific cutting application for more precise guidance on blade hardness selection.
